SLPCF seeks proposals that will fund general operating expenses, one-time expenses and special project expenses of community-based projects that meet SLPCF's guidelines.

Criteria:
 
Need: SLPCF will consider projects that address a critical community need that is not currently being addressed or not being addressed adequately.
 
Feasibility/Impact: SLPCF will consider projects that can be accomplished and will have an endurinig positive change for the SLP community.
 
Organization/Capacity:  SLPCF will consider the qualifications of the individuals implementing the proposed project to assure that the project meets measurable outcomes. 
 
Resources: SLPCF will review the project budget to assure that the program has adequate funding for the life of the project. Any additional funders for the proposed project must be submitted to the SLPCF.
 
Matching/Challenge Grants: SLPCF will encourage the participation of others in funding projects and place an emphasis on providing matching funds or challenge grants in an attempt to stimulate increased response from other sources.

Grant Application
 
The SLPCF awarded $50,000 in grants at the end of 2009.
Please edit the beginning of the third sentence of this paragraph to read:
The SLPCF grant program accepts applications on the MN Common Grant Application standardized form accessible for downloading from the MN Council of Non-profits and MN Council of Foundations.
Major awards are made once a year.
 
 
If an application is clearly outside the SLPCF objectives and giving guidelines or if the application is incomplete, it will be returned to the applicant. The grants committee is made up of SLPCF Board Members.
